Producer of Rick and Morty, and The Simpsons Michael Mendel Dies at 54
The Emmy Award-winning line producer J. Michael Mendel has left the world at the age of 54. Mendel is gained popularity for this work on Rick and Morty as well as The Simpsons. The production company behind the popular show Ricky & Morty release a statement saying
All of us at Adult Swim are devastated by the untimely passing of Mike Mendel. Mike was the heart of the Rick and Morty production family, his fantastic talent and wit will be sorely missed.
Mike was a universally respected Emmy-winning producer with over 25 years in the industry, who guided and supported a generation of artists, writers and creators and his absence will be felt by the entire community.
“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
Mendel supported to create 207 episodes of “The Simpsons” during his tenure in the show and took home One Emmy award in the year 1995, and two in the year 1997. Later, Mendel contributed to produce 22 episodes of Rick and Morty which won him the fourth Emmy award for his excellent work.
